The ICS forms are designed to help Incident Command put it all together in an organized fashion and keep track of it all while the event is occurring. However, these forms also serve another job that is just as important as organizing the event; they also help in terms of quality control. Quality control is the process of measuring, evaluating, and improving for continued success within the response system (Walsh et al., 2012). All the forms used throughout an event, done by each section, can later be used to determine the quality of response to the event. A strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis can be used as a way to analyze the different sections. A SWOT analysis will do just as it indicates; it will look at the strengths, weakness, opportunities, and threats that occurred during the event. It will measure and evaluate the plan, use of resources and personnel and funding against the tasks and goals of the event, thus providing information for improvement or change to give the best outcome possible if the event were to happen again.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT ACTION PLAN PHASE FOUR 6 Impacts of Emergency Events and NIMS Evaluation People are the most valuable resource for any agency; therefore, the health and safety of emergency personnel is a very important subject and is vital to an organization’s success. Emergency personnel faces many dangerous situations during their careers, and while in the past safety and health issues were not at the forefront as it was a controversial topic, safety standards were first issued in 1987 by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). There is a chance for injuries due to crashes involving fire or ambulance apparatus. Injuries can occur due to the physical demands of lifting heavy equipment or exposure to toxic chemicals. A person’s body can wear out over time due to these demands, making it vital to stay in shape in terms of regular exercise and to protect themselves from exposure to chemicals in terms of using protective equipment. Another concern is the toll an emergency service job can take on a person’s psyche. Emergency personal are exposed to all types of scenes, some that will even involve the death of another human, needless to say, the stress of these scenes can take its toll. They can be responding to an emergency call and become victims of violence. Sleep deprivation is another stress on the body (Smeby, 2014). The stress on a person’s physical and emotional wellbeing can make it very hard to juggle solutions and cope. Suicide rates and divorce rates are high in the public safety professions. An agency needs to keep the health and safety of its responders in the forefront and offer ways for them to maintain healthy lifestyles and release stress to mitigate what they go through during their jobs daily. Somethings that can be done are fitness programs, critical incident stress debriefings, or psychological first aid (Backberg, 2019). National Incident Management System (NIMS) evaluation is the process of judging the worth and merit of a program. The purpose of this evaluation process is for determining the

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
