Maslow’s needs theory Maslow needs theory is effective for influencing the behaviour of employees in Ryanair. According to this theory, the basic needs of employees are met when they become motivated in achieving higher level requirements or needs. The five levels are included in the hierarchy: Self-actualization It helps in developing the desires in the employees so that they can achieve everything. Esteem It is the need for feeling confident or helps the employees in getting respect from others. Belonging/ love: This particular level helps in developing the relations among employees and also helps in bringing the change in the employees. Safety It includes financial and personal security as well as health or wellbeing of the employees of the Ryanair. Physiological needs : The needs are required for an individual to survive including shelter, water and food. Vroom’s expectancy theory: 10
ORGANISATIONAL BEHAVIOUR This theory presumed that the behaviours resulted from some conscious choices amongst alternatives (Zhen, 2017) . The main purpose of these alternatives is to increase the pleasure or to decrease the pain. According to Vroom's expectancy theory, it has been observed that the performances of the employees are based on some individual factors which include abilities, experience, knowledge, skills and personality. Besides these, Vroom stated that the motivation, performance and effort are connected in the motivation of a person. Moreover, the Vroom uses some variables such as Valence, Instrumentality and Expectancy. Vroom suggested that the valence, instrumentality and expectancy are associated with one another. Most of the employee group of the Ryanair considers that the employees will work hard more effectively as compared to the other employees in different airport based organizations (Owoseni et al. 2017) . Vroom suggests that motivation, expectancy, instrumentality, and valence are related to one another on the basis of the equation: Valence+ Instrumentality + Expectancy = Motivation. It is essential for the Managers of the Ryanair to encourage staff for performing harder( expectancy), in the certainty that the success will definitely bring rewards such as opportunities of promotion ( Instrumentality) as well as that the rewards are worth having ( that is Valence). Thus, it can be said that Vroom's expectancy theory is effective for influencing the behaviour of the employees of Ryanair. D1.
