Explain the importance of the function of sweat and sebaceous glands and the difference between apocrine and eccrine glands. Our sweat and sebaceous glands are a part of the dermis. Sweat glands are spread over our skin. The two types of sweat glands are apocrine and eccrine glands. Apocrine sweat glands secrete at the hair follicles in the groin, anal region, and armpit (Ankney et al, 2013). Around puberty that is when they will start to be active and it will act as a sexual attractant. The eccrine glands are located all over our skin, doesn’t matter the age. These glands are important in the regulation of body temperature (Ankney et al, 2013). The sebaceous glands important role is to secrete oil that keeps the skin from drying out. References

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
