.” We will investigate occurrences of unethical conducts in the Australian media and give illustration of the codes of conduct and laws that were broken by such instances. Christchurch Terrorist Attack Reporting. On 15 th May 2019 the world was hit with shock as a terrorist stormed into a mosque and gunned 50 people down and wounding more. It was an unfortunate event and a completely absurd occurrence that hit major world headlines. The nature of this terror act actually placed the world main media and the Australian media houses were not left out in this gross unethical conduct with regard to their reporting of the incidence. Serious ethical conduct breaches were recorded in the plight of this event. According to the Australian laws the media that apply to terrorism include the unnecessarily praises to the terrorist and secondly, avoid violation of public decency standards. In order to

3 UNETHICAL CONDUCT IN COMMERCIAL PURSUIT adhere to these rules the media has to be cautious an what information to publish in order to give the public sufficient and evidence of what actually happened. The Australian main stream media, mainly the commercial televisions terribly failed to meet these ethical requirements during the Christchurch massacre. The companies that fell pray to these core values were the News corp company and the Australian Television. They were the main culprits of the law as a result of their coverage reports, mainly broadcasting sections of the footage that was originally shared by the terrorist that showed how he grabbed his gun from the back of the car and starting firing as he was getting towards the front door of the mosque. In this footage, the backs of three men were visibly seen in the doorway and the scenes of the terrorist killing people inside the mosque were also shown. Such images are highly graphical and disturbing especially when they are repeatedly shown like the case of Sky News did. The motive of the terrorist was to simply glorify himself as he performed the evil act. It was to inspire others to copy him, he wanted to look like a hero in front of his targets and bring more fear. This was a simple calculation, as indicated by(zzzz) that for a long time public-seeking criminals have taken advantage of the media to conduct violence due to the fact that the media has deemed such actions as newsworthy. This criminal used the media in full to saturate his intentions and the media simply did the rest of the coverage for him. The Sky news failed since they would have used just a small section of the video to show the intentios of the terrorist and to give substancial evidence wwhy he did what he did. The first minute of the clip shared by the terrorst would be enough to justify and give all the datails that the viewers requured. The terrorist“s gun had an white supremacist writing on it, this would have been used to give enough information required by the public to draw their attention that this incidence was a white supremacist act.
