challenges the U.S. government to consider them differently and social meanings pertaining to them change as well. While reading this chapter, the idea of white privilege resonated with me because I agree with the text that privilege is invisible to those who have it and that needs to either be changed or needs to be highlighted more. We can’t live in a country where we proudly say “this land is my land; this land is your land” when, a person of color must work hard for their land while a white person just gets their land based on the sole fact that they are white. Like the text said, many white Americans stay in primarily white neighborhoods, so they aren’t noticing their privilege. White Americans should be aware of their white privilege all the time and not only in situations where they are with someone that has no share of this privilege. I believe that more incidents of white privilege, like the Brock Turner case, should be pin pointed out in situations so that the awareness of this unfair advantage is being conversed more and bringing it to the attention of
