Hand and arm motion should be symmetrical and simultaneous to minimize hand/arm coordination. The operator can use both hands in assembling to be able to finish the product easily. B. Workplace Arrangement The location of the parts must be organized or properly arranged to be able for the operator to assemble the bolt and washer easily. C. Tools and Equipment Tools and materials must be prepositioned to reduce search, find and the select operations. Wherever possible two or more tools should be combined.

Conclusion (Pin Board Assembly and Bolt and Washer Assembly) The left and right hand chart gives a synchronized and graphical representation of the sequence of manual activities of the worker. It is called two handed process chart since it records the activities of the left hand and the right hand of the worker as related to each other. A time scale can also be provided on the chart. It is generally used for repetitive operations. This chart shows all movements and delays made by the right and left hands. Usually, it is not practical to make a detailed study through the two-hand process chart unless a highly repetitive manual operation is involved. It shows whether the two hands of the operator are idle or moving in relation to one another, in a timescale. It is usually less confusing to chart the activities of one hand completely, and then chart the other hand. Although there is no fixed rule regarding what part of the work cycle to use as a starting point, it is usually best to start plotting immediately after the release of the finished part. The two-hand process chart is an effective tool to balance the motions of both hands and reduce fatigue, reduce or eliminate non-productive motions, shorten the duration of productive motions, and train new operators in the ideal method.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
