housing. It is our hope that the administration will work with the City of Santa Cruz to expand tenant legal services, funding for housing cooperatives, and develop more affordable housing for students. The Student Union Assembly would like to point out that in a University of California study conducted in 2017, over 13,000 students throughout the system have struggled to find a stable home. That is nearly 5% of all UC students that have said they lived on the streets, found shelter in vehicles, or lived on couches. This same percentage jumps to 7% when we look at students from UC Santa Cruz. “I’m glad the SUA has shown overwhelming, unanimous support for rent control in Santa Cruz,” said Student Union Assembly Housing Coordinator Thao Le. “We also cannot forget that for some of us, the UC is our landlord and that the fight for housing justice needs to take place systemwide - both on and off campus” The Santa Cruz Rent Control Measure is led by the Movement for Housing Justice, a grassroots campaign. It is currently in the process of getting on the ballot in November and is expected to get more than enough signatures. ### For media inquiries or comments, contact SUA Communications Director, Jonathan Tsou: [email protected]

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
