with drum backing. At 1:17, the chorus continues with the same texture as before. 1:32, before the second spoken word bit begins, Byrne repeats “same as it ever was” accompanied with some extra synthesizers added in. 1:49 is when it gets more inventive as he begins to talk about water. Byrne lyrics repeating “water” get panned and distorted (2:00 particularly is quite low in pitch as if to represent drowning) as his spoken word gets more existential in subject matter. The chorus plays again at 2:05 but this time with the synthesizers that were introduced at 1:32 afterwards and the song concludes with a nice electric guitar piece. The chorus repeats, but this time removing the synthesizer that was added and instead replacing it with the original guitar that was playing. 2:38 continues with the spoken word with the same instrumentation of bass, synthesizer and drums. 2:53 is more of the chorus, with 3:10 repeating the chorus with an extra synthesizer. As the song concludes, 3:29 has Byrne repeating “same as it ever was” as he is being drowned out by a distorted electric guitar playing over the same bass, synthesizers and drums. 4:00 plays an abridged, shortened chorus as the song fades away decreasing in volume and the song finishes.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
