I found your example of quasi-experimental research design was very effective. To add the intervention of a luer lock impregnated with 70% alcohol is an excellent choice for an intervention. The central line bundle has been the gold standard for CLABSI prevention for some time now. I found this to be a clear example of quasi experimental research as the CLABSI bundle group was the control group and the group that had the new alcohol intervention was the experimental group. Nice job. The example that you used for the experimental article was also a clear example of an experimental research studied. The randomization was characteristic of experimental research. Patients received one of either drug or a combination of both drugs for COPD and then were tested to see which drug was more effective over 52 weeks. The results of this study showed that responses were greater (P<0.0001) with tiotropium/olodaterol 5/5 µg in both populations versus tiotropium or olodaterol. The overall population was also compared to the East Asian population. References Lee A., Freeman D., & Price D. (2007). Quasi-experimental designs typically allow the researcher to control the assignment to the treatment condition but using some criterion other than random assignment (e.g., an eligibility cutoff mark). In some cases, the researcher may have control over assignment to treatment condition. Non-Experiment: the researcher cannot control, manipulate or alter the predictor variable or subjects, but instead, relies on interpretation, observation or interactions to come to a conclusion. Typically, this means the non-experimental researcher must rely on correlations, surveys or case studies, and cannot demonstrate a true cause-and-effect relationship. Non-experimental research tends to have a high level

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
