broadcasts, so it looks rather dense and is difficult to navigate. Moreover, around 53% of the respondents stated that the information architecture was rather confusing, which made information difficult to locate and save. At the same time, in the interviews conducted with website administrators, they complained that they were facing many constraints when adding new information to the site as they did not wish to redesign the interfaces and templates because that would entail extra costs. Project directions The above opportunities can give rise to the following directions for website improvements: 1) It is advisable to restructure the menu navigation so that it is simple and easy for all stakeholders to locate what they want. The new design should ensure that menus are simple and the typographic hierarchy is easily readable across platforms. According to the Stanford Guidelines for Web Credibility, people would quickly judge a website’s credibility by its visual design alone. Therefore, the layout, typography and images of the website must also be carefully chosen and designed to enhance readability and satisfaction. 2) If more flexibility can be allowed in the site architecture, new or additional elements can be added more easily over time. The site can also incorporate flexible elements that are mobile- friendly and transferable to print media. Conclusion To conclude, the current design of VC’s website has been used for many years and a number of opportunities have been identified for the redesign project. The new website design should give users a better browsing experience and the administrators higher flexibility in website management. (576 words) Reference: Fogg, B.J. (May 2002).
