you? B) Identify at least one SPECIFIC and measurable improvement in regards to your food handling habits that you’re willing to make starting this week. A measurable goal usually has numbers and/or a time frame in it (i.e. “I’m discovering that temperature is really important when it comes to food safety. I don’t currently have a food thermometer in my kitchen. My goal is to purchase one this week .” ) (2 points) Personal Evaluation: I would say 9 out of 10. I have worked in restaurants and at nursing homes cooking. I know the importance of checking temps and so on. I say that hardest thing to fallow is leftovers in the fridge if its been a day or week I’ll eat it and this goes back to my military days where we trained in eating whatever is available. The easy part for me is just washing and proper preparing food. Specific Goal: I think getting the food thermometer is what I will do this week so I may start to go through and make sure my food is cooked properly. 15. APPLICATION QUESTION - Select and complete an Application Activity from the list of options (also linked on the homepage). List the NUMBER and DESCRIPTION (in bold lettering on the list). Report on what you did and what you learned. Your answer should be at least 4 lines long and demonstrate that you took this assignment seriously. Alternatively, you can read Pour Better or Poor Worse: How Beverages Stack Up (Published in the Nutrition Action Health Letter, June 2006) and write a synopsis of the article. Your summary needs to be at least 6 lines long and include specific content from the article. Please also include what you learned

and how you plan to apply this information. (5 points) Application Activity # __3__ (or Read “Pour Better or Pour Worse” Article) Answer: Homemade Granola was amazing. This was a fun thing to make. This is a great snack to have and was good to put in yogurt and even mix with nuts. I feel this makes a lot and lasted me about a week with eating some sometimes twice a day. I would recommend any one who works long hours or just needs that quick healthy snack. The best part is I am sure you can change out sunflower seeds or even the cinnamon for different flavors. I would suggest that everyone tries this one.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
