3 The ISTE standards is a true guideline to help teacher become successful in teaching each student. It is important to make sure that I am very familiar with the standards and be able to provide guidance to curriculum development team in conducting needs analysis before designing the curriculum project. Use of assessment in curriculum design According to "Know The Iste Standards For Teachers 2" (n.d.), " State Standards for reading requires students to be able to analyze seminal U.S. documents of historical and literary significance, such as Washington's Farewell Address, the Gettysburg Address, Roosevelt's Four Freedoms speech and Martin Luther King's "Letter from Birmingham Jail," including how they address related themes and concepts. For additional guidance, teachers can also consult the ISTE Standard for Teachers 2, which asks teachers to "design, develop and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources.” (par.3). Assessments are important because it helps the teacher be able to see what the students are retaining from the lesson plans that they are teaching. It’s important to know that assessments are associated to standards as well as the learning goals educators uses to know what the students are able to learn and the proficiency level each student is at.
