By looking at social questions scientifically, social psychologists hope they can make more accurate and universally agreed upon predictions about humans in social situations. 5. Compare and contrast how sociology, personality psychology, and social  psychology attempt to understand and predict human behavior. Personality psychologists focus on individual differences- the aspects of their personality that make them different from others. Social psychologists believe personality psychologists don’t take into account the powerful role played in people thoughts and actions played by social influence Sociology focuses on how broad social, economic, political, and historical factors influence events in a given society, mainly concerned with topics like social class, social structure, and social institutions. Instead of focusing on the psychology of the individual, is more concerned with providing general laws and theories about societies as a whole. Social psychology emphasizes the psychological processes shared by most people that make them susceptible to social influence, regardless of social class or culture 6. Identify the goals of sociology compared to those of social psychology. Sociology- provides general laws and theories about societies, not individuals.
