For instance, the United States gets about half of their oil from other countries (Fichman, 2011). In which most is controlled by Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). Instead of adopting a new clean energy policy, maybe one way of decrease petroleum use if needed is to improve cars that reduced the amount of petroleum used while driving. Those choices make better sense than changing everyone’s way of living just to have cleaner energy. With cars decreasing the dependency of oil, this would help save more oil for later uses. We will also never stop the uses of petroleum based with a 42 gallon barrel of petroleum used only about half if used for gas production, the rest is used for various other objects such as crayons, deodorants, makeup, sports equipment, and much more (Williams, 2008 ). We will always need petroleum for our everyday products. In conclusion the Unites States doesn’t need to adopt a new clean energy standard, we are doing fine as we are right now. Adopting a new energy will cost the American taxpayer millions of dollars, and time. Many of the so-called clean energy
