Saying punctuation is that of a road sign, giving it the authority to control whether a reader will stop, continue, or stop and continue with caution while reading, based on the specific type of punctuation used. 5. The importance of these quotations around faith, is in which the word faith, that precedes the second one, does not have quotations; quotations give faith a questionable meaning, as if a man was not fully committed to what he believed, all which is capable through punctuation. 6. V.S. Naipaul uses the comma before “with glasses” to signify that wearing glasses is not indicative of a middle aged man.
