I learned from this activity that it’s important to watch what your body consumes not just for weight control but also to see how eating unhealthy foods can be bad for your health. If many people simply watched what they ate, they could save themselves from many diseases in the long run. Eating foods with high amounts of sodium can cause high cholesterol or even diabetes. Regulating your diet and eating healthy may be challenging but it could be the difference in life and death in a sense. I believe that Emily ate decent portion sizes even though it wasn’t the healthiest choices possible. She ate many snack foods and fast food which wasn’t the best idea. She should have ate more fruits and vegetables to
balance out these unhealthy food choices. Being an athlete and having limited time for meals could have been why she chose to eat the way that she did. Even though she ate unhealthy, she still didn’t reach her recommended caloric intake for each day. She also calculated her BMR to be 1424.35. Emily is physically active everyday so eating unhealthy may not have an effect on her now but one day it will catch up with her. She should start eating healthier now to train her body to eat right.
