Grading and Assessment LCCC has adopted a +/- grading system. Each final grade used in the calculation of the GPA is assigned a quality point value. The numeric value of the grade (A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B- = 2.7, C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, C- = 1.7, D = 1.0, F = 0.0) is multiplied by the number of credits for the particular course to obtain the quality points earned in that course. The sum of the quality points of the courses taken is used to calculate an average. The equation used is as follows: Total Quality Points/Total Credits = GPA

You may increase your overall grade on each test by correctly completing all of the online exercises related to that exam. The maximum amount of extra credit is 10 percentage points. The amount of extra credit will be prorated based on the score you obtain on all the review exercises related to that exam. Policy for late or missing work and tests (if applicable): Late work will be accepted and missed exams will be rescheduled at the discretion of the instructor based upon the excuse. If you do not notify the instructor prior to an exam either via email or phone call that an issue has occurred, you will get an automatic 0 on that exam. If the exam needs to be rescheduled, then you will have to do it by going to the testing center on your own time on campus and take it no later than one week after the exam was given. All students are encouraged to complete a course survey/evaluation. Information will be sent to you through your LCCC e-mail approximately three weeks prior to the end of the term . Assignments and Evaluation Students are required to complete all online and in-class assignments in order to receive a passing grade in the class. In-class assignments will be done and collected in class and online assignments have due dates. In general, the due dates for the online assignments corresponds with the time that the exam will be given. In-class assignments will be collected during class, but student who have an excused absence may hand in the in-class assignment the following week. It is up to the student to email the instructor to determine if they missed an in-class assignment due to an absence. Failure to notify the instructor of the absence will result in an automatic “0” on any in-class assignment. Finally, the online homework and quizzes has due dates associated with the exams, so if the assignments are not completed by the due date then the
