social policies are used to improve our overall wellbeing but usually come with limitations of liberties. Many people then did not see a problem with drinking and driving and thought it was their “god given” right because they either were not aware or did not care of the danger that came with it.
Social Policy Decisions PaperThere have been many criticisms of Mothers Against Drunk Driving calling them once a well-intended advocacy organization to a bureaucracy determined to restrict the liberties of thosewho enjoy alcohol. Some of their opinions on social policy now include putting alcohol sensors in every car in the United States as well as raising taxes on alcohol. These may sound unreasonable to use now but so did raising the minimum drinking age in the 1980’s. Social policy changes as society changes and these policies may very well be reality one day.
