Intelligence: Spearman Provides a detailed overview of the science and methods that drove the psychometric view of intelligence. Also details the foundations of the two-factor theory developed by Spearman. Intelligence: Binet Provides information regarding the original Binet intelligence scale, and later derivations up to and including the current version, the Stanford-Binet 4 th Edition. Multiple Intelligences: The Theory Gives details regarding the origins, current research, and status of the theory of multiple intelligences. Separate pages describe each of the 7 intelligences described by Gardner. Center for Research on Concepts and Cognition A site devoted to cognitive science, it provides links to other sites related to intelligence, as well as offering a contemporary perspective related to experimental findings. Each program in this four part series blends humor, animation, original music, and on-location action to capture the spirit of emerging innovation and creativity. Dyslexia: Diagnosis and Therapy Films for the Humanities and Sciences, 1995. 52 minutes. This program features eight children and adults of different ages who have had their lives severely affected by dyslexia. The video stresses the importance of early recognition and alerts viewers to the signs of dyslexia and possibilities for therapy. Dyslexia: Diagnosis and Treatment International University Consortium, 1995. 52 minutes. Video explains exactly what dyslexia is, the many ways it is manifested, the extensive testing needed to make a diagnosis, and the role of heredity. The treatments presented include neurological, psychological, individual adapted language, auditory, reading, and spelling training programs. Films for the Humanities and Sciences, 1995. 23 minutes. This new video explores the relationship of language abilities and specific areas of the brain. This program examines, from an evolutionary perspective, both human and nonhuman animal language development. New work on communication between humans and animals is presented.
