In order to even have a restaurant, I will need to have a permit, approvals, and licenses, so I will discuss all of them. I will also include the design furnishings and equipment. Employment is what keeps the restaurant going, so I will explain my employees. The training of my employees is so important so I will discuss my plan of action. Finally I will talk about my market analysis. All these concepts are important in building and owning a restaurant, especially if I am planning on turning a profit year after year. Outline 1. Concept of Major’s Steakhouse The concept of my restaurant is to be a family orientated restaurant while also bringing in people of all ages. This restaurant is family owned and has experience in the restaurant industry. My restaurant will be affordable to all. 2. Site Selection The restaurant will be in the small town of Iowa, with a population of 14,000 people. This way, the town is small enough there isn’t too much competition, but big enough to make a profit off of everyone. It is also easier to open a restaurant in medium size town. 3. Menu

My menu will be friendly to all. Yes we are a steakhouse so we specialize in steaks, but we also have all sorts of different kinds of food. There will be Italian, Casseroles, Salads, and Entrees. 4. Financial Analysis There will be no specific budget, so I will make it a fun, yet a great atmosphere for the dinners. We will be stable because I have a plan to turn profit 5. Licenses, Approvals, and Permits It will take a license to open a restaurant. I will need ground approval. I will also have to have a permit for the contractors. 6. Design Furnishings, and Equipment I want to have a game room for kids to play while waiting to be sat or for when their parents are still talking. I also want it to have alcohol access, but not have a main focus on it. Most restaurants have many rooms of it. I want all my dinners in one room with a private room for larger parties. 7. Employment of Key Personnel I don’t like having too many people in power. I will have up to three managers who will all report to me when there is a problem or if they need to contact me. 8. Selection and Training of Key Personnel I will choose my personnel very carefully. I want employees to listen, but also speak up when needed. I want them to want to work there and enjoy it. I also want employees with ideas. Since it is a privately owned

company, I come up with my own ideas and if I have some help from the staff, better ideas will come up. 9. Market Analysis I am trying to attract all sorts of people. I want families to come in and have a good choice food for their little ones. I also want to attract the couples going on a date and wanting a nice restaurant to go to. This will also be in a good location, which is easy to get to.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
