John is a 50-year-old man who has Parkinson disease. He is on daily medication twice a day. His guardian is Mr. Johnny who is his father. John is in soft food diet and he is allergic to nuts. He goes to gym on weekdays for an hour and sees physio once a month. We have recently noticed that John’s mobility condition is more deteriorated, so we have provided him with wheelchair. Carers must observe as well as ask the client their preferences. They also have to follow organisation policies and procedures but without overpowering the right of clients. The Disability Discrimination Act also protects the rights of disabled persons to access goods and services; this may include accessing retail outlets and professional individuals, such as lawyers .
