T-1.8.1 a) Scenario: In order to fulfil your duty of care, you must know how to participate in workplace health and safety management according to the procedures of your own work setting. You must also know how to do this within the scope of your own responsibilities and knowledge. Some workplaces may need a mix of HSRs (health and safety representatives), HSCs (health and safety committees) and / or other consultation arrangements tailored to suit the workers and the work environment. In the simulated workplace Academies Australasia where you are appointed, you have figured that you only need a HSC because of the nature of work environment (i.e. that your work area does not have extreme work conditions or use highly hazardous chemicals and machineries).Using your classmates and your trainer as the safety committee members for your simulated organisation (or from your chosen workplace), complete the following WHS consultation and participation requirements. WHS CONSULTATION AND PARTICIPATION Identify your workplace Health and Safety Committee meetings (meeting must be held once every three months) and other requirements.
