CLC106 COR with a Mission Focus Lesson 5 - Developing the Acquisition Determining the Competitive Range The contracting officer and sometimes a board comprising representati ves from the acquisition community and the project team rank the proposals against each other and establish a competitive range. Based on the ratings of each proposal against all evaluation criteria , the KO shall establish a competiti ve range comprised of all of the most highly rated proposals. Provided the solicitation notifies offerers that the competiti ve range can be limited for purposes of efficienc y, the KO may limit the number of proposals in the competiti ve range to the greatest number that will permit an efficient competition among the most highly rated proposals.
