Slide 5 of 19 Open Ended Question He returned the next day, expecting the work to be done. ”Sorry,” said the foreman. “We’re still working on it. Try next week.” A week later, our friend picked up his cube. It looked very smooth, shiny and beautiful in its velvet lined case. Seeing the cube, our student has a premonition of disaster and became a bit nervous. He summoned up his courage and asked for the bill. “$500.00” he was told. “That’s a good price considering the time it took to get it right. We had to make three of them.”“But …but… my friend only paid $35.00 for the same thing!”“No". Your friend wanted a cube 2.1 cm on an edge, and your specs called for 2.097 cm. We had your cube roughed out to 2.1 cm that afternoon, but it was the precision grinding and lapping to get it down to 2.097 cm that took so long and cost the big money. The first one we made was 2.089 cm on one edge when we finished, so we had to scrap it. The second one was closer, but not according to your specifications. That’s why it took 3 times!

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
