Running head: Mobile Computing and Social Networking 4 providers can pull up a patients medcial history in miniutes. There is a huge time saver and patiens can be seen quicker. In addition doctors can give patients perscriptions and avoid the pharmacy misreading the prescription because it has been transmitted by a mobile device. Mobile applications like “"iScribe contains each insurance plan's formulary so I can choose the preferred medication to minimize the co-pay for the patient." Alley says that with the increased prevalence of three-tier drug formularies, this capability has reduced the number of times when pharmacists must call back to ask for alternative, more affordable medications” (Vink, 2002). The full scope of the patient experience can e electronica and beeficial to both the patient and docors office. Both can work togeather through these applications to address heath needs. Social Networking also provides support for many persons and their health concerns. Social networking allows for individuals to gather and share their health journeys. When people are faced with illness it is first a mental adjustment. Having a support system to share your concerns and fears with is vital to combatting any illness or medical condition. “When a patient receives medical interventions, there may be unintended health effects in that patient’s social network, i.e. other people to whom that patient is connected. For example, treating a heart attack may cause the patient’s children to change their dietary habits, improving their health and possibly improving their future medical outlook” (Jessen, 2007). When people are engaging in conversation through social networks their outlook on their condition can change and their medical outlook can improve. Therefore there are great benefits in people using social netowrking sites to address their concernes and fears.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
