Members of the organization need to work together toward an outcome the leader and followers both want, a desired future or shared purpose that motivates them toward this preferable outcome. Change Influencing and setting objectives is about change. To be an effective leader and follower you must be open to change. Leaders bring about change by asking followers for their input, to change the status quo, to continuously improve work processes, and to develop new innovative products and services.

People Leadership is about leading people through relationships. People accomplish the objectives. To be effective at almost every job today, you must be able to get along with people - Treat people as an asset. 2. Discuss important Leadership Skills based on managerial levels. Answer 3 important managerial leadership skills. 1. Technical skills involve the ability to use methods and techniques to perform a task (daily routine task scheduling task, people, production… .meeting customer quality needs, deadline…eg. Operates machine, technology, hardware or software, system) 2. Interpersonal skills involve the ability to understand, communicate, and work well with individuals and groups through developing effective relationships (eg, EQ, empathy, consultative, negotiation method… ) 3. Decision-making/ Conceptual skills are based on the ability to conceptualize situations and select best alternatives to solve problems and take advantage of opportunities (vision/mission, strategy to compete, market to enter, new product to launch…) Skills Needed Based on Management Level (all needed by managers, but at different degree) Top level managers have a greater need for conceptual / decision making skills and interpersonal skills (CEO, COO, VP, director.).
