1. Discuss the relationship between data, information, and knowledge. Support your discussion with at least 3 academically reviewed articles. Data means general facts which talk about characteristics of an object or event. It is mixture of unrefined, or unfiltered basic information only. Information means characteristics of an object or even which often described as Data which compile in a user defined in a meaningful context. Compared to data, Information is mixture of refined data which is useful for some kind of analysis. Knowledge is mixture of ability, skills, expertise, experience or characteristics. Knowledge is internal creativity, or idea of an user which is human experience and it applies on data and information to convert it meaningful. All 3 sources are vital for overall business success and they are very valuable resources. It is a continuous process like Data becomes information which becomes knowledge. Knowledge means proper utilization of data and information. If one has Data and Information but they do not know how to use it in a meaningful or useful way then it is not considered as Knowledge. All business activities or situations involves Information which mostly comes through Data. Business activities from various departments like Sales, Production, Administration or Account departments contains information or Data.
