4. Adhesion Prime quality . It is related to surface preparation and application standard and most mechanical properties revolve around the ability of coating to adhere to steel. 6. cathodic Dis-bondment It is a mandatory that CP (Cathodic protection ) be used with a coating system . Where defects /Holiday exists in the coating system . CP are utilized to render the exposed surface passive to corrosion reactions . The objective of this test was to evaluate the compatibility of the coating to cathodic protection by assessing the comparative resistance of damaged coating (Contains Holiday) to loss of adhesion when exposed to CP . 6 mm holiday are immersed in 3 % salt solutions at 21 deg C for 28 days .
