believed that what they were doing was ethical because they heard that other students were doing it and that most of them did so without ever being caught. From a young age we are taught that the most important thing in life is graduating from college so that we can be successful in life
and that we should do everything in our power to get there. However, we are not taught that it is important to have morals and maintain your integrity while doing so. Society influences individuals who are stereotyped to be deviants to fit their given stereotype and make them into what everyone already believes they are. While society does influence deviant behavior this may not be an entirely bad thing. Even though deviance is typically seen as a negative behavior, it is an important part of society and without it there would be much more senseless discrimination against innocent individuals. Deviants are constantly looked down upon by the rest of society but if it wasn’t deviants, who get their title from bad behaviors, then it would be those with simple flaws, those who have done nothing wrong, who are looked down upon. Therefore, deviants will always exist within all societies and this is a good thing because they are essential for a society to function normally.
