Discussion 2 In the second post, the author talks about how Mulvey discusses the interviewing of erotic pleasures in films. I concur with the author's post that Mulvey talks about how cinemas offer pleasure. In most scenarios, when we put too much emphasis on pleasure and talk about it in details, then it loses the excitement that comes with it (Mulvey, 1989). This way, we can stop having our minds fixated on the idea that there is pleasure in viewing or being viewed. It is true that women are the essential images that are looked at in most films. Finally, I also concur with the author’s argument that in most cases, men are rarely looked at but women, on the other hand, get all the attention for mainly the wrong reasons.

VISUAL PLEASURE AND NARRATIVE CINEMA 3 Discussion 3 In the third post, the author also explains how women are objectified as sexual objects in most of the cinemas. It is true that women are used as sexual objects because it is what will grasp the attention of the viewers. I concur with these arguments because everyone is fascinated by what they watch in movies and what grabs the attention is what matters to the filmmakers. The filmmakers know quite well that objectifying women in some sexual manner easily arouses the curiosity of the audience and makes them feel as if they were part of the script. Finally, I also concur with the post that camera angles play a significant role in making the scenes look real for the viewers.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
