She also gives off a tough attitude. She wears a red bandana and a blue collard shirt with the sleeves rolled up. This lok and style is commonly assosciated with tough guys who are about to fight. This makes her look strong, tought and ready to take on anything thrown her way.3. The Rosie the Riveter poster is addressing the sterotype of women’s beauty standards, while refuting the commonly known idea the women aren’t strong enough for manual labor or any work outside of the house. On the poster Rosie is very beautiful, and stands apart from the average female in terms of looks. This supplies all women with an ureaistic idea of what a beautiful female should look like. Rosie is depicted this way for two reasons. The creator of the poster is a man who drew his version of an idea women which happens to be as flawless as Rosie. Rosie was also depicted this way because it will entice women and persuade them to follow in Rosie’s footsteps. They will see her beauty and try to mimic her in every way, pushing them to get a job in the work force. The poster does a good job refuting the sterotype that women can’t work outside of the house. She is dressed in male work attire and is posing in a masculine fashion. All of these details are used to show that Rosie isn’t the average house wife, but ahard working women that isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. Rosie emits confidence and toughness which are qualities not previously associated with women.
