Provision of fresh water to public in time of need for gaining a positive image in the minds of people. 2. Rural Management Initiative Indian Oil has installed RO water plants and solar lights for the benefit of rural populace in far-flung areas. About 9 lakh people have been benefitted by around 100 drinking water projects across the country. For meeting basic livelihood needs viz. drinking water and electricity, flagship CSR projects of Indian Oil i.e. - Jal-Jeevan projects were rolled out in 30 villages and Indian Oil Surya-Prakash (solar) projects were implemented s in 25 villages. These projects have fulfilled the need for clean drinking water & illumination of many villages, including Hope town village of South Andaman District in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The quest of the families of the village for safe drinking water and street illumination was fulfilled by Indian Oil by providing a 1000 litre/hour RO water plant and 30 solar street lights. 6000 inhabitants of Hope town village have benefitted from this project. A snap from the inauguration ceremony of the Jal-Jeevan & Surya-Prakash project in Hope town Indian Oil has also provided solar lanterns to people in rural areas who suffer from frequent power cuts.
