restricted to watching programs with an educational purpose. In a time where the History channel supplements its' educational programming for Ice Road Truckers, it's quite obvious that American mass culture seeks a shallow form of television, but if it entertains us, there is no reason to condemn Herbert Gans' lower class culture. There was a lot of prior posts about target demographics for the show, and while the title implies a male-centered program, I feel like women could definitely relate to and enjoy this series. Like Gossip Girl, there were gender specific jokes in the episode, yet there was definitely an appeal to both men and women throughout the show, and it's one I could see anyone from teens to middle class men and women enjoying. One question that came to mind after reading these posts about the distaste towards the episode's references to drugs and body humor is, with programs like Entourage and Weeds on paid programming that have much stronger adult themes and drug use, is the censorship of prime time television shows too heavy? We often see the same themes parents condemn in news headlines throughout the world, so perhaps we are too concerned with what the content is than what we are actually watching.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
