3. Unitary state is a state or country that is governed constitutionally as one single unit, with one constitutionally created legislature. The political power of government in such states. 4. Fusion of Powers Fusion of Powers is a feature of parliamentary democracies, wherein the executive and legislative branches are intermingled. It is viewed as the opposite of a “separation of powers” found in so-called “presidential” democracies. Fusion of powers exists in many, if not a majority, of democracies today, and does so by design. But the system was the result of political evolution in Britain over many centuries, as the powers of the monarch and the upper house withered away, and the lower house became dominant. 5. Cabinet is a body of persons appointed by a head of state or a prime minister to head the executive departments of the government and to act as official advisers. 6. Constitutional monarchy is a form of government established under a constitutional system which acknowledges an elected or hereditary monarch as head of state, as opposed to an absolute monarchy, where the monarch is not bound by a constitution and is the sole source of political power. The process of government and law within a constitutional monarchy is usually very different from that in an absolute monarchy. 7.
