Michael Zubek4/16/2015 10:28:02 PMI feel as though a lot of types of art need time before they become popular or respected. Just lookat impressionism, at first, it was thought of as ugly and wasn't respected whatsoever, but now itrespected by all.RE:PopArt in500YearsAldous Reyes4/17/2015 9:00:34 AMSince it's a different form of art, I can't imagine that it won't be.All we have to do is look at other forms of art that was recently introduced that has gainedmomentum. Shock-comedy is not respected. Before, many people didn't like it and they didn'tagree that it is comedy however, a few films later, it became something that was accepted. And tothis day, many shock-comedy films are released.
Rap artists such as the Notorious BIG & Tupac weren't respected by the public when they werealive. As rap evolved, the media came to the realization that their contributions were great andhelped mold the art to what it is today. The same thing can be said about the Beatles & Elvis.RE:PopArt in500YearsMarc Vaccaro4/17/2015 11:52:35 AMI think the pop art of 500 years from now will be respected, because it will have meaning just as artfrom our past is respected. The many artist who have created it will be legends as time goes on.RE:PopArt in500YearsDeshawn Stephens4/17/2015 12:21:00 PMProfessor and Class,I think pop art in the next 500 years will be quite prevalent with the advancement of technology. Assigns of it plagues our everyday when we use computers now those side ads when we search Iwould consider them as pop art can anyone agree?(an instructor response)RE:PopArt in500YearsProfessor Norsworthy4/18/2015 10:08:45 PMDeshawn, these are good points in relation to the possible relevance and respectability ofpop art in the future. You mentioned the advancement of technology and that having anaffect on the art world in some way. Aside from the pop-up windows that you mentionedin your post, what role do you think technology might play in the distribution of pop art?Could advances in technology expand the distribution of pop art even more?RE:PopArt in500YearsWilliam Wentz4/17/2015 7:29:09 PMI think that people can appreciate things on different levels. I may find traditional art a little moreinteresting but that does not take away from the fact that I also enjoy pop art. I find that many
people relate to pop art because it is so easily accessible. If I had to venture a guess about art 500years from now and how people see it I think that folks would probably have a similar attitude aswhat I have just described.RE:PopArt in500YearsJoseph Renner4/17/2015 8:59:42 PMI would have to agree that it should be respected in 500 years. Will it be? I have no idea, I think thefuture 500 years from now will have changed in such a much more drastic way than it has over thelast 500 years.RE:PopArt in500YearsCelia Cruz4/17/2015 11:32:38 PMI feel like pop art will be respected on the same level as traditional art because every artist shouldknow there is more than one form of art. Just like every piece of art is scrutinized and judged, it
