They may also provide a source of ideas for the suggestions (see next section) you can make to improve the workplace practices at your venue. What are ‘Environmental management/sustainability policies’? Your environmental management/sustainability policies are public statements indicating your position on the environment in which you operate. They should provide the basis for the action the business takes in relation to these issues and become a vital aspect of the operation of the business: they should not simply ‘sit on the shelf’ but need to be implemented. There is a need for them to be relevant to your particular organisation and appropriate to your scope and scale of business.
