Assigning a mentor to Janice, who can monitor her and help with any concerns and question she may have is an excellent way to proceed. In Janice case, she is having problem concerning with feeling simple sympathizing to emphasizing with her clients. According to Dillon & Murphy (2003), be able to empathize with a client is essential to understand the client point of view. When a person sympathize with another they simply feel sorry living an emotional connection that will interfere with clearly addressing the problem on hand. When Janice no longer sympathizes with her client she will be able to leave out her emotional connection with her client that is obstructing her from feeling comfortable with some situations the clients have. As case logs goes, Janice needs to understand that they are as important as the counseling sessions because they are use for reference and for future treatments when any emergency arrive. Janice need to understand that failing to comply with all aspect of her position could result in a disciplinary action. Michael must be referred to the Employee Assistance Program. There he will be able to have counseling about how to work with his stress levels, depression, and his thoughts of over lamping. I believe that as Michael works with lowering his stress and depression concerns levels his overlapping thoughts will disappear. Michael should be place under a supervision monitoring period were his is supervise to ensure Michael's clients are properly taken care of. After, working Michael working with a counselor to overcome his depression, lower his stress level, and overcome his overlapping thoughts

Human Service Manager - 6 - he should be able to move from the supervise monitoring program he should be able to be back working on his own and very confident on his self. Michael Thompson is 44, married African American man who has been working with family support services agency for 16 years. Mr. Thompson is employed as a substance abuse counselor. He is a recovering addict with 18 years of sobriety. He states he is under a lot of stress at home and concerning financial obligations. He has a good work record except for periods of repeated absence from work and periods of depression. He is suffering doubts about his ability to relate to clients’ addiction issues. Co-workers are concerned and suspicious that Michael has relapsed or is contemplating drug use. The agency has an Employee Assistance Program and Policy. The recommendation for Mr. Thompson would be refer. Mr. Thompson most likely signed an agreement that he would not use during his employment, since he is working in addictions and this is often required from addiction counselors. In this case, an appropriate recommendation would be that Mr. Thompson be referred to appropriate professionals and support networks to help him work through this difficult time. His
