A part of the SPC process involves the use of control charts. Control charts areused to identify how a process changes over a period of time, and also illustrates if the processisinorout of control. A control chart consists of upper and lower control limits (UCL and LCL)and a center line which are used to understand if the data points are staying within the identifiedparameters of the process. If the data is consistently inside the UCL and LCL, then theprocess is said to bein control. If data points stray outside the UCL and LCL, the process issaid to beout of control.
