18 Schizophrenic patients between the ages of 18-38 and 19 mental-health professionals were carefully selected for the study. A semi-structured Face-to-face individual interviews were conducted in an outpatient clinic setting. Open ended questions were asked. The data collected were analyzed using the grounded theory principles with Glaser’s approach which included the use of open and focused coding, research memos, and the technique of constant comparison (Ho et al, 2016). One of the limitation of the study is that, in the selection of schizophrenic patients, inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied. This, as a result may distort the interpretation of the data at hand. These observations will influence my next step in moving forward with the clinical questions by employing qualitative research method, the
Running Head: BACKGROUND AND SIGNIFICANCE PAPERgathering of data using unstructured interviews diary accounts, unstructured observations and open-ended questionnaires. The grounded theory for the data analysis will also be useful. This article has a positive impact not exclusively though in my decision about my topic. My topic is emerging but underexplored on a global platform. This article is one of many research study thatis available to buttress the point that non-pharmacological therapy when combined with pharmacological therapy, has a big impact in the reduction of symptoms on schizophrenic patients. I intend to explore more research that speaks to spiritual and other non-pharmacologicaltherapies for Schizophrenic patients. This article partly answer my burning clinical question based on the result of the study, there is evidence that spiritual interventions creates a more stableand well managed symptoms. Today, schizophrenia sufferers stand a better chance than at any other time in history of leading a normal lifeYou will discuss the historical and societal perspective of the problem and expand on how this affects the current clinical situation that led to the problem.
