way, they would gain an advantage over the Nazi party. 2. Roosevelt views the conquest of Nazi Germany as a major threat to the United States and democracy as a whole. In Roosevelt’s perspective, the Nazi domination of Europe raises major red flags to him and his country. He warns that the United States must intervene in World War II. If they were not to intervene, they would run the risk of the Nazis becoming too powerful to be stopped by anyone. If this happened, the United States and surrounding European countries would be too weak to stop Nazi Germany and trouble will be faced.

3. Roosevelt proposes to prepare for war in a couple of different ways. First, he conveys to citizens to start preparing for a coming war, while also continuing to send help to Britain. He then implemented a policy called Lend-Lease, which meant that America would lend war supplies to the Allies, in assurance they would return them. Since war supplies were usually destroyed, the Allies could not promise a return of equipment. However, the United States generously allowed the lend to commence anyways. 4. FDR stirs the emotion of the American people by being relatable. He appealed to the American peoples’ love and passion of freedom and democracy. This was favored highly over tyranny that ensued. He cautioned to Americans that democracy was under threat, and the United States needed to stop Hitler. If they were unsuccessful in this task, it would result in a dictatorship ruling over Europe.
