from both Harvard and Yale. A big part of Burnham’s success was his ability to accept losses and avoid obstacles; moving around them to achieve the end goal. pass. In 1990 the real estate market declined...his own net worth was cut down by two-thirds from 1.7 billion to 500 million...Trump brought his company back...worth to nearly 2 billion in 1997” ( 1). Donald Trump experienced a major roadblock into his success, but instead of breaking off his root of desire, and letting it take control of him, Trump took the reign, moving forward and bringing his business back to life in just seven years. Both Trump and Burnham’s desire held strong, eluding multiple obstacles thrown forth. Both men took hold of their desire, not letting them run rampant, making sure that passion and emotion went to the betterment of themselves. The urgent want and need within that comes with desire is the beginning of devastation for man, but if handled correctly, can propel instant action and force for what a person wants. The roots of Desire must be taken care of at all times, otherwise they will rot and take over the actions of people as evident with David and Lady MacBeth. If the roots are carefully tended and controlled, they can give the best opportunity and chance for those hold it just as Donald Trump and Burnham. Sources Cited Branch, John.
