Chapter III Research Methodology This chapter represents the research methodology, this includes the research design, Research locale Population and sampling design, research instruments, data gathering procedure, data, Analysis procedure and validity and reliability of the study. Research Design This study utilizes the descriptive quantitative design since our study attempts to find out the Impact of Online games to the life of the Information Communication Technology Students of Southern City Colleges. Also, it is quantitative design because our study involves collection of quantitative information that can be tabulated along in numerical form, we computed percentage and the different answers by making table summarization.
Locale This research was conducted at Southern City Colleges. Traces it beginning on May, 09, 1946 after the world war ll that left the city in shambles, ravish and devastation. Amidst life’s turbulence caused by the ravage of war one man manage to stand to rebuild then dignity of the city of zamboanga by education its youth, shielding them with vocational skills. This man came from Tarlac in Luzon. His name Francisco M. Caliolio, Jr. his aspiration to helpthe less fortunate, Southern academy was born. It was housed along old ballen street now la purisima street. Typewriting, stenography and bookkeeping were the first skill causes offered by the school. The school eventually skyrocketed to success. As such, a new course like their culture was introduced. MrCaliolio who then was the accountant of Zamboanga Copra produrementCoorporation now INTERCO, was assisted by his wife Mrs. Araceildizonferer- Caliolio a native of Bacoor,Pampanga,she owned a beauty salon, at the same time assisted in their vocational school. It was in 1962, lohen Mr. Caliolio realized the urgent of offering baccalaureate courses for those who aspire to strengthen their Educational portfolio. He applied for a two years Commercial Science courses which were approved by the Bureau of public school in Manila. This new thrust paved the way to change the name of School to Southern City Colleges of commerce and with this development. The school moved to Luy Kim Guam building at old Madrid Street Now N. Valderosa Street. The school’s reputation and success pervaded in Basilan, Jolo Sulu, Tawi-tawi, Zamboanga Del Sur and Zamboanga del Norte
Population and Sampling Design The study will utilize respondents from grade 11 Information Communiocation Technology students who are involved in online games. The total population of Grade 11 Senior High School Students were 169. 51 participants represent 30% of population which is justifiable. The researcher’s use of simple random sampling. This is a probability sampling which is characterized by idea that the chance of selection is the same for every member of the population. So, the researcher’s made use of manual process of being drawn from the total population of Senior high school students.
