There is need to lobby with the Congress law makers to make policy changes that will allow the government to step in and regulate drug prices. This is because HIV drugs are unreasonably highly priced and this makes it very hard for the African American to afford them, bearing in mind their low economic status (Woolf & Braveman, 2011). There is need to increase Medicaid eligibility in all States so as to ensure that the African Americans can access healthcare. Moreover, I will lobby for increased funding of the Ryan White program so that there can be drug assistance programs to HIV positive patient among the African American population. Legislation

Support from Ryan White HIV/AIDS program, Campaign to End Aids, Corporation for Supportive Housing and National Minority AIDS council will be sought to help garner more support of this policy legislation. At the same time, we will utilize the three identities of power which are coercion, persuasion and manipulation. In this matter, the nurses have an understanding that they have power of influence and can shape public policy. In this case, much emphasis will be directed on persuading law makers so that the desired policy can be achieved, to persuade the congress to provide cover where HIV positive African Americans can get medicine for free and follow up their treatment effectively (Miller, Reed,, Fancisco & Ellen, 2012). The program will seek close relationships with the politicians and groups which have special interests in the subject of health care and HIV/AIDS. Lobbying for Policy Support It is clear that for the success of the policy, there has to be effective influence from individuals with the common interest of it approval. To lobby for the support of these policies, the following shall be consulted and involved; AIDS United, Corporation for Supportive Housing, National Alliance to End Homelessness and Ryan white HIV/AIDS program. They are organizations with close interests to HIV/AIDS prevention. Professional Professional lobbyists are the first people who understand the importance of the policies and are the best in establishing networks for policy approval. Assistance from the professional lobbyists is very essential so that the policy can be successful (Miller, Reed,, Fancisco & Ellen, 2012). They have individualized relationships with the legislators who make policies successful and therefore they are very crucial at this stage. Moreover, they are fully supported by the
