This graph shows the heart rate in BPM vs. Time. As the time increased the heart rate also showed an increasing correlation. This graph shows the relationship between the RR and Tidal volume with its correlation to time. Subject 2 This graph shows the relationship between the RR and Tidal volume with its correlation to time. Discussion The tidal volume and respiratory rate have a strong correlation together. Tidal volume is the volume of air that you breathe in a single breath. Respiratory rate is the number of breaths that you take over a certain amount of time. As exercise intensity increase your tidal volume also does because your oxygen requirements need to be met to meet the needs of your body at a

certain time. Your rate of respiration also goes up with the increase in exercise intensity because more breaths are taken to supply oxygen to your working muscles. So as your exercise intensity increases the volume of air you breathe and your rate of respiration also increases to meet the demands of your body so that you can sustain exercise. Based on the information that we collected I feel these individuals reached their Vo2 max. The variables that would indicate that the subjects have achieved their max are an elevated RER, complete exhaustion, and a plateau in oxygen uptake when these variables are plotted. Once your plateau has been reached even if you increase exercise intensity your Vo2 max won’t increase because of all the lactate that has accumulated in your blood. Vo2 max is expressed as l/min, ml,kg,min, and ml,kgFFM/min because there is a relative and absolute Vo2 max rating.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
