experienced in American families. In past few decades, there have been a rise in gay couples, interracial couples, and single-parent marriages. Also regarding the new trends, the society has experienced a rise in number of mothers working outside their homes and also the number of heterosexual spouses who deciding not to have children. Generally, I think that all these trends will contribute to undermine the basic unit of society which is the family. As already explained, families were made up of individuals who cared for one another. However, with the current trends, there is a chance that in the future, we will have families where children will have to endure more emotion disruption in familial relations. Additionally, I think that in the future, families will be affected in ways that will see a rise in divorce cases, people will prefer cohabitation over marriages, and there will be an increase in the number of children born out of
