His neighbors understood what it was like to be in a completely new place and not knowing anything about how to live there. As the years went on my family assimilated into the American culture quite well. All of them learned English and after the first generation, they stopped speaking their native tongue

Davis almost altogether. Living with different cultures and having to change their whole lives taught my ancestors two things: learn fast and live life to the fullest. My grandma said that her great grandpa John never regretted coming to the US. He felt that his life had played out in a good way and that the things he learned he passed on to his children, hoping that they would take chances for the things they wanted just like he did.
