Things appear to be going well for the newly married couple - Othello has a great reputation in his society - Discusses Iago’s view of love; believes that love does not go beyond lust and instinct; calls Emilia his ‘nightcap’ - Iago tells Roderigo that he should be happy that Desdemona is having an affair with Cassio, because it means that she is open to cheating on Othello and she would have an affair with Rod as well - Says that Desdemona and Othello’s love is based on lust and once they get tired of each other she will leave and can be with someone else - REPUTATION is extremely important - Iago gets Cassio drunk and tells everyone that he is an alcoholic; ruins his reputation - Virtue can become vice if manipulated
