FANTASY GENRE AND THE LITTLE MERMAID 4 Fantasy genre The little mermaid was one of my favorite movies as a child because of all the magic that took place in the film. This film would also be considered a fantasy film because of all the plot in the movie from all the animals talking to Ariel transforming into a human to Ursula becoming a giant octopus this is all magical fantasy which would not happen if it was considered a different genre . Concluison With any film there is several components that defines a genre such as the type of setting, theme of a film and if there is a lot of repeating styles in the film. With this film being a musical there is a lot of fantasy in the film with magical creatures to mermaids becoming human. Throughout The Little Mermaid there is a lot of scenes that is fantasy and musical. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
