The problems that CSR addresses have existed in the societies for a very long time and if they were as simple then they would have been solved long ago. Businesses are realizing that the focus on issues ailing the societies are reducing their bottom line. A manager who prioritizes CSR over profit making will most likely lose their job because they will have drifted from their core duty. Another area that ethicists have to consider is overregulation. Opponents of CSR would argue that CSR leads to a rigorous social and environmental regulation (Rayman-Bacchus, 2017). That would mean that

While regulations are good, from an ethical point, overregulation is not important as it is argued that the more the regulations, the higher the chances of defiance. Another issue with CSR is greenwashing. The ethical argument is that when firms engage in unethical business practices, they usually shift the focus by engaging in CSR activities. Another way of greenwashing is by being reactive and not proactive. This is not a beneficial effort but rather a way of hiding their misdeeds. Pursuing CSR is a way of taking advantage of the customers and members of the community who are sold out to the idea of CSR (ArAs, 2016). There are a host of events that are happening in relation with CSR. One of the events that firms are employing is the encouragement to give further.
