COMMANDING HEIGHTS 6 at throat of each other trying to tear each other’s economy apart (Brandt et al 2012). In episode 3, the Soviet communist led by Russia and the Eastern bloc which included countries like India, tried to protect the economic life of their countries when their governments developed some measures of control. China in revenge to the huge tariffs imposed by the American government on the Chinese goods, China increased their interest rates on the manufactured goods headed to the U.S. The effects and impacts of China in the political arena are profound as a result of her rise in the economic power. The U.S is still the world’s largest economy, but the rise of China in the global arena is threatening the position of America and as such, America might prepare a counter-action plan to fire back at China (Hanson, 2012). Having the world's two largest economies at loggerheads definitely raises some aspects of concern because most of the world's countries look up to the two superpower countries and their destruction would mean the destruction of many other countries. Globalization has greatly advanced the societies we live in, but if it means China and U.S, would eventually be at war with each other, and then it’s proper to say that globalization and its future on the societies will have negative impacts. Globalization has indeed contributed to the decline of the U.S manufacturing industry while the economy of China has been on the rise.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
